Anti-idling event 20th March - Join HammersmithLondon to help improve local air quality.
On Tuesday 20th March, we will be running an anti-idling event in the town centre where we will be engaging with drivers in the local area to remind them to switch off their engines when stationary. Our event is part of a London-wide behaviour change campaign which is helping to reduce localised air pollution caused by motorists who leave their engines running when parked. Idling degrades local air quality, impacts our health and creates unpleasant walking and cycling environments.
Be an anti-idling champion
We are currently recruiting a team of enthusiastic volunteers who want to be part of this innovative education and behaviour change campaign to reduce localised air pollution and improve air quality in their residential and workplace community.
All volunteers will receive training where they learn all about air pollution, given tips on how to be persuasive in a short amount of time, and how to respond to drivers’ possible reasons for idling. The training will take place at Hammersmith Town Hall from 9am-10am and will be followed by an hour of active engagement on the streets.
If you want to volunteer for this event or would like more information, please contact Business Engagement Manager, Livia Caruso.
