Help support the H&F Big Christmas Day Lunch Party

Hammersmith & Fulham Council are actively fundraising for the annual Christmas Lunch for the borough’s older generation who may be alone during the festive season.

Every year, the Council throws the H&F Big Christmas Day Lunch Party for residents aged over 55 who are on their own on the big day. This year they are expecting up to 350 guests at the Town Hall.

“We want to do our bit to give residents a great Christmas – and all the guests and volunteers at our annual Christmas Day lunches have a lot of fun,” said Cllr Ben Coleman, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care.

On top of a hearty Christmas lunch, guests will enjoy a visit from Father Christmas, a goody bag, live entertainment, music and dancing. Door-to-door transport, qualified carers and a team of volunteers will ensure all guests are well looked after.

This event is a lifeline for those older residents that would normally spend the festive period alone.

So far, the Council’s events team have reached just over 40 per cent of their fundraising target, with time running out to raise a further £19,000.
