KM Residency & Gallery Exhibitions
A group of emerging artists took over a double unit in King’s Mall as studio space for several weeks between March and May. KM Residency, an initiative by HammersmithLondon and Hammersmith and Fulham Council, addressed the lack of affordable studio space in London while opening up the usually hidden world of the artist’s atelier to the public.
The artists held two exhibitions during their time in the unit, ‘Mall Malaise’ and ‘Ping Pong’, in which they showcased their hard work, and explained their thought processes regarding their art.
As well as this, the Art Director for Hammersmith and Fulham also gave free lunchtime Art Talks for interested locals to ask questions and find out why the residency is so important.
