Made in H&F Pop-up Shop opens in Kings Mall
An exciting new pop-up shop showcasing talented local artists and craft makers is now open in Kings Mall.
Hammersmith BID (Business Improvement District) are working with the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kings Mall to pilot the ‘Made in H&F’ scheme within an empty unit in the shopping centre.
The shop, located next to the Poundland and opposite Game, will be up and running from Monday October 29, with a preview night on Tuesday October 30 for people to come and see the store and meet the artists and makers.
The shop will be open daily, 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays. Starting from November 3, every Saturday there will be children’s activities and demonstrations from the artists in the instore ‘creative corner’. And from November 21, the store will have a late-night opening until 7pm every Wednesday.
The Made In H&F pop-up shop will initially run until Christmas, providing the best local talent a fantastic opportunity to promote, display and sell their goods and services during the festive season.
Ultimately the vision is to establish a permanent outlet store showcasing the best arts and crafts made in the borough.
Over twenty successful artists, craft makers, painters, jewellery makers, hat makers, t-shirt designers and gift makers have been selected following a vigorous application process.
Those showcasing their work at the pop-up shop over the next two-and-a-half months include: Upholstery Collective, La Galeria Design, A Bag Less Ordinary, Sabine Fouchier, Millinery & Feltmaking and Darren Azgard.
The pop-up boutique store will be selling art, jewellery, home accessories, gifts, bags, scarves, urban wear, upcycled furniture, cards, millinery and more….
Patricia Bench, BID Director at HammersmithBID, said: “We are passionate about our local talent here in Hammersmith and this shop offers a great outlet for some of our best artists and makers to promote and sell their fantastic pieces of work.
“The Made in H&F pop-up shop will be hosting some great activities for children and will be brimming with original gift ideas. We’ve got lots of fun things planned in the run up to Christmas. We hope to see lots of you down at the shop in the next couple of months, enjoying the best arts and crafts that Hammersmith has to offer.”
